Nighttime Eating

Do you tend to reach for the same food late at night, night after night?

Maybe a bag of chips or a pint of ice cream? A slice of leftover pizza? A glass of wine?

If you follow me on facebook you'll know I’ve talked about this before, but this was a serious problem for me for years. What was my particular poison? Get ready.... it was CEREAL.

  • Frosted Flakes.

  • Frosted Mini-Wheats.

  • Honey Nut Cheerios.

  • Honey Bunches of Oats.

It might not sound so crazy as far as late night eating goes but when you look at the label, sugar is in the top 3 ingredients in all of these cereals. I would have it religiously in the morning AND right before I went to bed. EVERY DAY. Every time I felt bored, exhausted, or hungry at the end of the day I would dig into one or more giant bowls of cereal.

It was a habit that I had built up from childhood. It had become a part of who I am, and I didn't even realize that I was doing it, much less that I needed to break free from it.

I didn't realize or understand what that the 72 additional grams of sugar I was eating EVERY DAY was doing to my body, my mental clarity, and my life. I never thought that I would happily give up cereal and NEVER miss it. It took finding WILDFIT to help me understand and work through my sugar addiction and figure out what actually makes me feel good - and it isn't cereal.

If you are constantly looking for late night snacks (whether it is cereal, chips, ice cream, or something else), IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT! We can work through all of it together.
